BRIEF
โ€œHow would you celebrate your creative passion with new media technologies?โ€
This brief asked students to conceptualise, feature, and repurpose new media technologies in our creative passions. We were required to revisit the passion projects (old work) that we have done before. Through revisitation, we were prompted to reimagine new ways to digitise the work, fit them into different realities, and shape new experience. The aim was to revitalise the existing user experience of our work and discover what new media would mean to it. An interactive website prototype needed to be delivered to evangelise the reconceived new media experience.
SOLUTION
Revisiting my passion project, making solo dining experience accessible, I responded with a series of new media solutions that addresses the emotional glitches along solo dining journey. It takes form in a solo dining club that restaurants in Melbourne can foster affiliation with to offer friendly solo dining experience whilst showcasing their personalities. The experience spans idea promotion, welcoming, in-store engagement, loyalty, and community. The pain points of each stage were identified and resolved with the new media solutions. AR booking system and navigating, mixed reality menu, digital mascot, animated menuโ€ฆโ€ฆ These transformative solutions were showcased on the website prototype.
